Since opening his first practice in Lafayette and then the Dermasurgery Center in his hometown of Baton Rouge, he has performed tens of thousands of procedures, including over 30,000 Mohs surgeries. Dr. Prather is currently seeing patients at Sanova Dermatology, with locations in Baton Rouge and Lafayette.
About
Dr. Chad Prather specializes in skin cancer treatment, Mohs surgery, and aesthetic dermatology.
Upon receiving his medical degree from the LSU School of Medicine and completing his internship and residency in the LSU Department of Dermatology, Dr. Prather pursued advanced fellowship training in Mohs Surgery and Cosmetic Dermatology in Birmingham, AL.
He is the author of numerous scientific papers and textbook chapters on topics including skin cancer, facial fillers, chemical peels, and more.
In addition to his work as a physician, Dr. Prather enjoys taking an active role in his community. He currently serves as the Director of the Board of Directors for Louisiana Medical Mutual Insurance Company (LAMMICO). Dr. Prather also serves as a Clinical Assistant Director for the LSU Department of Dermatology. He is also currently pursuing his MBA with ______.
Most recently, Dr. Prather, inspired by his daughters’ hobby, began offering free cancer screenings at equestrian events, resulting in the conception of his nonprofit, Sun Safe Equestrian.
